ED Foods To Avoid – Foods That Are Bad For Erectile Health!
ED Foods To Avoid – Foods That Are Bad For Erectile Health!
As we seek to cure erectile dysfunction by means of making some changes to our lifestyle like our diet, taking up some exercise and the use of certain herbs there are a group of foods that I call ED foods to avoid.
What Are The ED Foods To Avoid?
Some of those foods that are best avoided should for some be obvious, some perhaps not so.
Foods that are high in Cholesterol should be avoided, or at least enjoyed in moderation with a limited intake as erectile dysfunction (ED) can be an indication of future cardiac problems because the arteries that transport blood to the male gentiles are only half the size of those in the heart, the coronary arteries.
You should try to limit your cholesterol intake to no more than 250mg per day.
Foods High in Cholesterol
- Eggs, especially the egg yolk. & Butter
- Liver, processed meats and red meat
- Fish & Fish Oils – although considered healthy for the heart due to omega 3 fatty acids they are, however, high in cholesterol.
- Fast food.
- Baked goods, especially ones made with eggs and butter.
- Cheese.
For those who wish to keep an eye on their cholesterol levels and save a ton on the expensive lab fees, I found a Cholesterol test kit that may be of interest.
Salty Foods, Foods High In Sodium!
The effect that excessive sodium has on our diet is rather negative and detrimental to our overall health as it raises blood pressure. However, it is an essential mineral needed by the body for regulating blood pressure (it is excess sodium that raises blood pressure) and maintaining a balance of fluids in the body.
The nerves and muscles in our body require sodium in order to work properly.
Because high blood pressure can be a cause of erectile dysfunction (ED) and generally speaking not good for your cardio health. Salty foods and foods high in sodium definitely make the ED foods to avoid list.
Healthy adults should limit sodium intake to 2,300mg per day, those with high blood pressure should limit their sodium intake to 1,500mg
Foods High in salt (sodium).
- Cured meat, and fish.
- Sauces and salad dressings
- Pickles & Cheese
- Canned vegetables
- Fast food
- Nuts (salted and roasted), seeds.
- Instant soups and noodles.
Sugary Goods!
Sugar is detrimental to our overall health, there is absolutely no reason for sugar to be in a persons diet. It has absolutely no benefit to the human body at all. Even natural sugars have a negative effect on the human body. There is no reason for sugar to be added to food other than that of making the food sweeter.

Sugar causes the sugar levels in our blood (blood sugar) levels to rise, when that happens the male sex hormone testosterone level’s drop. Low levels of testosterone result in a lack of sexual desire – a low libido. Low levels of testosterone are a known cause of erectile dysfunction in men.
The maximum amount of sugar recommended diet for men is 37 1/2 grams, approximately speaking 8 teaspoons per day.
Foods High In Sugar
- Soft drinks and drink powders.
- Candy’s & Chocolate.
- Granulated sugar, honey and syrups.
- Milk shakes, frozen yogurts and ice cream.
- Canned fruit in syrup.
- Cereals, jams and preserves
Canned Foods!
Canned foods should be avoided as the contain a chemical used in making industrial plastics called bisphenol A or BPA for short. The bisphenol A is used as a preservative in canned foods. A study showed men who were exposed to high levels of bisphenol A were 700% more likely to suffer from premature ejaculation and 400% more likely to experience erectile dysfunction.

Canned foods are also high in salt which is detrimental to erectile health.
