Homemade Nutella Recipes

In this article, I will discuss with you homemade Nutella recipes that are not only delicious but healthy also as we will be using certified raw organic cacao powder and not the all too easily available unhealthy chocolate that is loaded with sugars.

Nutella is a favourite chocolate treat for many of us especially those of us with a sweet tooth. I do admit I am a sucker for Nutella.

Sadly for me, Nutella is a very unhealthy choice and definitely not good for my waistline or erectile dysfunction as sugar lowers testosterone levels and can be a cause of obesity and diabetes.

I’d rather avoid those two silent killers thank you very much!

That is why I  switched to making homemade Nutella, ditching the chocolate used in regular Nutella and other commercially available chocolate products  for a far healthier form of chocolate that is actually good for us in a number of ways, including helping us with high blood pressure, mild depression, erectile dysfunction, and not mentioning that it is good for the heart also.

I am of course referring to raw cacao powder.

Health Benefits Of Cacao Powder

A healthier alternative to regular chocolate is raw organic cacao powder which can be used to make a “treat that is not so sweet” but just as delicious and has a great deal of health benefits.

One of the reasons behind the many benefits of raw cacao powder is that it is packed with antioxidants called flavonoids, which help fight the free radicals in the body that accumulate as a result of exposure to toxins in your environment and diet.

These include chemicals in household products, cigarette smoke, sun exposure, pesticides and pollution.

In some studies, the presence of antioxidants in organic cacao was found to have reduced the incidence of breast and pancreatic cancer which is encouraging for chocolate lovers like me!

We all know the importance of getting plenty antioxidants in our diet, to help repair damage at a cellular level.

Raw organic cacao powder contains nutrients like essential minerals and vitamins. Of which include all three of the minerals known for lowering blood pressure, calcium and potassium and magnesium as well as  a source of the energy and healthy for the heart, B complex vitamins.

Who would have guessed that organic cacao powder would be great for your heart?

I mean it’s chocolate, right? I am beginning to understand my mum now when she says’s “if it’s organic there’s no need to panic!”

If you are one of those people who love Nutella, then make your own at home using raw cocoa powder as the main ingredient in making your own healthier Nutella.

Special Equipment Needed

The great news is that no special equipment is required to make your own homemade Nutella, only a high-speed blender. You won’t be able to make the homemade Nutella recipes with a normal blender, as the nuts used could very well kill it.

I can personally attest to the effectiveness of the Montel Williams health master elite in making many batches of homemade Nutella!


One of the best and most delicious chocolate treats available is Nutella, and let’s face it who does n’t like Nutella!

The ingredients are very simple just a cup hazelnuts, 3 table spoons of raw cacao powder, A sweetener of your very own choice and liking (organic unrefined Coconut sugar for me!), have been known to add a dash of vanilla also!

Hazelnuts: You simply can’t make your own Nutella with them! The great news is they are a source of blood pressure lowering minerals potassium, magnesium, and calcium. Suffice to say that the unsalted version contains zero sodium.

Raw Cacao powder: The health conscious person’s choice of chocolate powder. Can be used to make a number of chocolate snacks from cakes to Nutella to your very own healthy chocolate and granola bars. You are only limited by your imagination and culinary creativity.

Also highly nutritious and considered as a super food. High in vitamins and minerals as well as other compounds that are beneficial for our health, including erectile dysfunction, high blood pressure, poor circulation and lower excess estrogen levels while raising testosterone levels.

Organic unrefined coconut sugar: Unfortunately, we have to sweeten this recipe up a little bit as raw chocolate is bitter in taste, think dark chocolate bitter and not lemon bitter. Not all sugars are the same, although not a super food or miracle replacement for regular sugar the glycemic index of 50 which is half that of unrefined cane sugar.

Unrefined coconut sugar, unlike refined cane sugar, has nutritional value and properties containing Zinc, which is good for sperm production, and two of the hypertension lowering essential minerals of calcium and potassium.

A dash of water or milk is needed to help form the chocolate paste for spreading. With this you can experiment, until you find what you like, water for a regular taste, milk for a milk chocolate taste  or even coconut milk for a tropical taste.


This is fairly easy to make.

Firs,t you will have to preheat the over to 360 degrees, put the hazelnuts in for roasting. This should take around 10 mins. Keep an eye on the Hazelnuts until they turn a slightly darker colour and start to give off a delicious scent. Becare careful as roasting the nuts for too long can spoil them.

Now you have to remove the skins.

Once the hazelnuts are roasted and skinned put them in your high-speed blender allowing the blender to mix the hazelnuts until they are completely ground. Now add in the remaining ingredients and allow the blender to mix them together until they are very, very well combined. This should take about 2 minutes.

Viola, now you are ready to go. Just put the paste like contents into a glass jar and store it in the fridge. Once it’s cool, you are ready to enjoy your homemade Nutella recipes.

As a side note, you really ought to try to reduce your use of plastics as they contain Xenoestrogens, which is exactly why I suggest using a glass container and not a plastic one.
