Testosterone And Sleep Relationship

Having previously discussed the effects of insomnia on erectile function and our overall health in general, it is time, that we discussed the testosterone and sleep relationship since we have established that both have a profound effect on erectile function.

Sleep Quality And Testosterone

The better the quality of sleep that we get, the more testosterone our body produces.

Think about that for a moment.

This means, in simple terms that as we get good deep quality out for the count sleep, our body switches on its own natural testosterone producing machine.

Perhaps, one of the reasons behind morning glory, morning wood phenomena.  And probably means, or is the reason why after a good nights sleep we are ready to face the world in the morning. Our bodies are at their peak testosterone levels.

It is actually noted by medical trials that on average a man is at his peak testosterone levels, both free testosterone and total testosterone levels somewhere from 7am-8am and the drops off at 7pm-8pm.

It is only by normal judgement of these facts that men need good quality sleep, in fact, the more the better. It has been stated that a minimum of 7 to 8 hours is best.

The Effects Of Poor Sleep

Having stated and established in a previous article that insomnia is a cause of erectile dysfunction as well as a number of other serious illnesses.

We can now, sadly add type 2 diabetes to this list as recent research has shown low testosterone levels can be linked to the condition due to the body becoming more insulin resistant.

Seriously bad news guys. If you have trouble sleeping, do something about it before it does something to you, like gives you erectile dysfunction, or type 2 diabetes.

So there you have it, guys if there ever was a reason for you/us to spend an extra hour or two in bed this it.

Begs the question,

Does Low T-levels Affect Sleep?

Now, that is a very difficult question to answer as the opposite is true also. In short, both low testosterone levels affect sleep and poor sleep affects you by giving you low testosterone levels.

Vicious cycle huh?

well, break it.

Poor sleep gives you low testosterone levels as you have effectively shut down the nighttime testosterone producing factory in your body.

How To Get A Good Nights Sleep

Firstly, it would be a great idea to identify what is causing your insomnia or poor quality of sleep.

That could be, stress, or pressure of some kind, try meditation prior to shut-eye, don’t worry if you fall asleep completely, that kind of the point, very least to begin with.

Stress? Mucuna Pruriens and He Shou Wu work wonders for me when strain was the cause of my poor sleep quality 3x500mg and for some reason, as calm as a Hindu cow afterwards!

Waking up too early? try going to bed earlier, talk about stating the obvious.

Got too much energy, try burning it off at the gym or going for a walk at night, the extra exercise is not only going to make you more tired by actually help your erectile dysfunction as well as possibly boost your testosterone level.

Talk about win-win-win

Remedies?

Well, have all heard some of the legendary late night remedies for a good nights sleep.

How about a cuppa hot chocolate, make one for your partner also, remember in that article I wrote,  How to cope with erectile dysfunction? I talk about sharing and caring..there’s another idea how you can share and care.

Don’t go for the fatty sugar loaded chocolate, go for the real deal the raw organic 100% cacao. It’s really good for erectile dysfunction and not fattening either, in fact quite the opposite.
